Hotel Maintenance Job Description and Duties
A Hotel Maintenance Manager is a vital member of the hospitality team, responsible for overseeing the upkeep and maintenance of a hotel facility. This role requires a deep understanding of the mechanics of building systems, such as plumbing, electrical, and heating and cooling. The primary goal of a Hotel Maintenance Manager is to ensure that the hotel property is running smoothly and efficiently, while also maintaining a comfortable and safe environment for guests and staff.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
·Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of hotel facilities and equipment.
- Plan and execute preventative maintenance programs to ensure the longevity of hotel assets.
- Monitor and control expenditure to ensure maintenance expenses are kept within budget.
- Coordinate with outside contractors for specialized repairs and renovations.
- Manage inventories of supplies, materials and tools and order new stocks when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with all fire, health, and safety regulations.
- Respond to emergency situations in a timely and effective manner.
- Monitor energy use and recommend ways to reduce energy consumption and improve efficiency levels.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure all paperwork is up-to-date.
- Position is on call 24 hrs.
- Communicates effectively and genuinely with guests, employees, and other departments.
- Maintains a friendly and caring demeanor at all times in a fast pace environment.
- Report to work at the scheduled time, well-groomed and in the correct uniform.
- Perform inspections of operating machinery, equipment and systems.
- Ensure all work is carried out in accordance and compliance with fire and safety regulations and all municipal, state and federal guidelines.
- Works in a safe manner and recognizes the unsafe situation. Takes appropriate action to ensure the safety of themselves and others in the building.
- Respond quickly to all guest requests in a caring friendly and professional manner, consistently follow up to ensure guest satisfaction that meets and exceed our services standards.
- To assist with maintenance on mechanical systems such a pump, fan coil units etc.
- To operate the fire pump and sprinkler system as required.
- Ensure that all potential and real hazards are reported appropriately and immediately.
- Perform any other duties assign by his/her manager.

Physical Demands
